Mineski Run Over LGD Gaming

Just as LGD Gaming ran over Evil Geniuses earlier in the day, so too did they find themselves at the mercy of the better team in the Grand Finals of the PGL Minor 2017. Playing without Chen ‘Victoria’ Guanhong hurt them the most in their matchup against Mineski; Yao ‘Yao’ Zhengzheng found himself thoroughly outplayed by his counterpart over at Mineski, Anucha ‘Jabz’ Jirawong. In Game 1, Yao and his Sand King failed to make any impact, while Jabz was all over the map with his Earth Spirit. The constant movement of Mineski’s supports and Kam ‘NaNa’ Boon Seng on his Mirana gave LGD Gaming fits as they struggled to keep up.

Meanwhile, this created enough space for Mushi and iceiceice to farm as they pleased on Phantom Assassin and Monkey King respectively. With both of Mineski’s melee cores hitting like a truck in no time, they decided to make use of their advantage; a timely Double Damage run pickup would serve as the final nail in the proverbial coffin as LGD Gaming just could do nothing to contest Mineski’s relatively quick Roshan attempt. In Game 2, Mineski went with their core trio of Puck, Vengeful Spirit, and Broodmother and LGD Gaming simply stood no chance. They pretty much lost all of their lanes and after they nearly got wiped near the 30-minute mark of the game, LGD Gaming saw no chance of coming back and promptly called GG. While the Broodmother may have taken much of the spotlight, Jabz’s play on Earth Spirit deserves a lot of commendation. His timely initiations and saves alike were just as big of a factor in Mineski’s win as iceiceice’s play on Black Arachnia was.
